MAY

31 Highland Ballet Academy recital at The Highland Center in Monterey.   2 p.m.
   

JUNE

1 to 30 Exhibit at the Highland County Library, Mountain View Room, in Monterey:
Mead without Mead, by artist Bernice Eubank. Eclectic display of interesting bottles, custom labels and artistic memorabilia.
8 Reception opening an exhibit by Bernice Eubank in the Mountain View Room of the Highland County Library, 2 to 4 p.m.
23 to 28 Summer Drama Camp. The production is Schoolhouse Rock, Jr.
Camp will be held at The Highland Center in Monterey. Tuition is $50 per person
(up to $100 per family).   Contact Caroline Smith for more information.
27, 28 Schoolhouse Rock, Jr., a play by Scott Ferguson, and three selections from Plays in Ten.   Performamces at 7:30 p.m. at The Highland Center in Monterey.   Tickets $5 each at the door.

JULY

1 to 31 Exhibit at the Highland County Library, Mountain View Room, in Monterey:
Images of the Night Sky, a photographic journey with Frank Marks.
17 to 20 Nature photography event at Bear Mountain Outdoor School. Contact Patti Reum by e-mail or phone 540-468-2700 for more information.
19 Good Friends concert at McDowell Presbyterian Church, 7:30 p.m., featuring violinist Amanda Blagg and guitarist John Hull with his group. Free will donation. Reception following concert.

AUGUST

1 to 31 Exhibit at the Highland County Library, Mountain View Room, in Monterey:
Photographs of young ballerinas.
5 Chamber music concert by the Garth Newel student ensemble at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Blue Grass, 7:30 p.m.   Admission free, reception following concert.
17 Chamber music concert by the McLean Chamber Players, 2 p.m. at The Highland Center. Free will donation. Reception following concert.
26 Check in entries for the Art and Photography Exhibits at the Highland County Fair:
Elementary school gymnasium, Monterey, 4 to 8 p.m.
27 to 30 THE HIGHLAND COUNTY FAIR – Art and Photography Exhibits in the elementary school gymnasium, Monterey.

SEPTEMBER

1 to 30 Exhibit at the Highland County Library, Mountain View Room, in Monterey:
Winners of Best of Show and Runner-Up awards plus other blue ribbon winners from the Art and Photography Departments of the Highland County Fair.
27 Toad Mamas and an evening Contra Dancing, Stonewall Ruritan Building, 7:30 to 10:30.   Sponsored by the Stonewall Ruritan Club in support of the Highland County Arts Council.

OCTOBER

11 Concert by Rhythm Road, a quartet from Staunton, 7:30 p.m. at The Highland Center, Monterey.   Tickets $10 each at the door.
